Preheat the oven to 375ºF / 190ºC / Gas Mark 5. Score the skin of the apples around the middle
and place the apples in a non stick baking pan.
Mix the golden raisins (sultanas), dried pears, and nuts with the lemon juice and zest and use
to stuff the apples. Break the cinnamon sticks in half and place in the pan, then drizzle the maple
syrup over. Sprinkle with the sugar and dot with the butter. Add the water to the pan.
Bake for 45 minutes. Let the apples cool slightly, then serve drizzled with the syrup from the
pan and a spoonful of yogurt, if using.
